SUBMISSIONS OPEN FOR ISSUE 03

Inspired by the international shifts on gender and equality, the third issue's theme is 'Our Bodies on Fire'.

For this issue, we are currently accepting Ekphrastic pieces.

What does that mean? Ekphrastic poetry explores art. Using a rhetorical device known as ekphrasis, the poet engages with a painting, drawing, sculpture, or other forms of visual art. Poetry about music and dance might also be considered a type of ekphrastic writing. Read more about Ekphrastic poetry. Please read the guidelines below carefully before submitting.

What Do We Accept?

Poetry
Prose
Fiction (~3000 words)
Flash Fiction (~1000 words)
Essays/Non-fiction (~3000 words)
Illustrations
Photography

Submission Format

We prefer the submissions to be in docs or docx format attached in the email. Please attach a high-resolution file if you're sending us a visual art/photography submission.

While submitting, you can include a short bio including your past publications, social media links, or your favorite animals. (Pet pictures are highly encouraged too!)

Who Should Submit?

We accept both published and unpublished work by South-Asian writers and artists. If you don't fall in the category, please submit only unpublished work.

Simultaneous submissions are welcome.

Publication Rights

The Indian Feminist Review retains first electronic publication rights for unpublished work and the right to archive your work both online and in any future print anthologies. For already published we will give the due credit to the work's first publication. Upon publication, all rights return to the writer/artist.

We do hope (and request) that you credit The Indian Feminist Review if your work is republished somewhere else.

Please note that we are not a paying market currently. We are new, unfunded, and operate with minimal womanpower.
